Oakfire Studios: The Search for Imaginative Live on the Internet

Oakfire Studios

Tired of the everyday?
Looking for something a little different?
Here are a few links to what I think is
worthwhile and unusual on the Web.

My work:

The Gates of Faerie: This is an animated video collage/screensaver about faeries which I have been working on. You can preview it on the web as well as download it.

My old Yahoo site that I downloaded just before they deleted it. They never told me why. It's now hosted on the Oakfire server.

The Gallery. I recently received a request to use some of my artwork for non-commercial stationery, so I thought I should try and pull most of it together into one place. You can also see my work in more finished galleries at Elfwood and Renderosity.

The work of others, largely superior to my own:

For news and analysis that's a bit outside of the mainstream, check out Alternet.

Journey To The West: Zen coyote meets sexy fox being pursued by aliens in this adaptation of a classic Buddhist text.

Mercury Theatre on the Air: In the 1930's, broadcasting networks still believed that they had a duty to present quality drama, even if no sponsor was willing to pay for that programming. One example of this programming was the Mercury Theatre. Give it a listen.

If you enjoy audio drama you might want to consider getting a subscription to The Listening Room. $8 for a gigabyte of MP3 downloads. That's a bargain, roughly 10 cents per hour of drama and you get to choose the shows you download.

Nosferatu: Van Helsing's grandson and Dracula's granddaughter meet in high school. Quick time animation.

Becoming Human: A superbly done Flash documentary about human evolution.

Alice: Alice is a prepubescent female Calvin with no Hobbes. Sort of. Actually quite addictive.
